Community Forest Scholarship for High School Seniors

Northern Tier Hardwood Association provides support to its mission and the future of the region’s wood industry by offering two $500 scholarships annually to students residing in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wyoming, Wayne, Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Pike counties of Pennsylvania. The scholarships are available to students pursuing post-secondary education in forest resources or another field closely related to a career in the wood industry.

One scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year college in an applicable field of study. The second scholarship is granted to a full-time post-secondary student that has all ready completed successfully one year or more of education at an accredited institution. The application is available by request or can be accessed from our website. Preference will be given to complete applications received by June 1. Students, guidance counselors, and parents are encouraged to contact us for additional details. Northern Tier Hardwood Association Board of Directors reserves the right to adjust the number and amounts of the scholarship awards based on the quantity and quality of applications received as well as the availability of funding. Winners will be notified directly and posted in our press releases.

Forest Resources Scholarship for College Students

The Northern Tier Hardwood Association (NTHA) of Pennsylvania is offering two $500 scholarships to students majoring in forest management, forest products, or a closely related field. Students should be current students at a two or four year college or university. In order to apply a student needs to have graduated from a high school or lived in one of the following counties in Pennsylvania: Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wyoming, Pike, Wayne, Lackawanna, and Luzerne.

The Bradford-Sullivan Forest Landowners’ Association

The Bradford-Sullivan Forest Landowners’ Association is pleased to offer a scholarship open to all High School Seniors and two and four year College Students who are from Bradford or Sullivan Counties. To qualify for the $1000 scholarship, students must complete the following application, providing as much detail as possible, and submit it to:

Deadline for applications is May 1 of each year. In addition, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be accepted and /or enrolled in a Technical School, College or University
Be accepted to a Forestry, Environmental Resource Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Parks, Environmental Education or other related field of study
Provide proof of acceptance, when received.

Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA)

Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA) will be annually awarding three scholarships, one for each of Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga Counties, Pennsylvania. The award shall be in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) and shall be made payable directly to the award recipient's institution of higher education in the second semester of study. NTSWA reserves the right to withhold an award due to the lack of eligible participants for one or all of the three counties affected. NTSWA reserves the right to make additional awards during approval process. NTSWA also reserves the right to withhold an award in the event that the recipient does not successfully complete the first semester of higher education.

The Bradford County Conservation District

The Bradford County Conservation District has organized a scholarship program as a memorial to the contributions to our County's natural resources made by the late Ernest Manchester. Each year a scholarship will be made available to students in an agricultural, natural resource management, or environmental education program.
